I am a British author and educator who has lived in Japan since 2012. With a background in Japanese historical studies and medieval combat, I bring unique depth to my storytelling. The Gekokujō series is shaped by years of immersion in Japanese culture, language, and martial tradition. I write to bridge East and West—using empathy, authenticity, and a love of complex characters to break down stereotypes and introduce Western audiences to the humanity of 16th-century Japan.
